About the hotel:
We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite at The Centre Point Silom for 3 nights from 9/3/2010 to 12/3/2010. Our room was extremely spacious and was kept spotlessly clean everyday by the cleaning staff. Everything works as it should be and is sparkingly new. Its definitely not worn down in looks or having weird mouldy smells that some older hotels have been accused of. Feels just like a home away from home, that when its time to leave there was a sense of reluctance in us. For a bedroom suite, the big spacious kitchen comes with everything that should keep a big family group contended, should they wish to cook in. Cooking hob, electric kettle, bread toaster, microwave oven, big-sized fridge (not those mini bar fridge that most hotel room has), washing machine, cutlery, chopping board and even scissor are all there. The air-conditioning system here is my favourite, as I simply loathe staying in any hotel which has an a/c that produces more noise than cold air. The a/c in CP Silom is strong, powerful and quiet. After a hot day walk in the baking Bangkok streets, nothing beats coming back to a cold cold room. Though the cleaner usually switch off the a/c after housekeeping was done (when we were out), all it takes is just abt a few minutes after turning it on before the whole place is cool and cozy again. Water pressure and temperature in the bathroom ,which is also another essential that makes a hotel stay comfortable, is working fine too. Shower temp control is responsive and the pressure is adequate. No problem in that area either. The room safe is one of the biggest I have ever seen in a hotel room. It can fit a laptop easily with room to spare (see photo attached). Some reviews complained that either the bed or the pillows were too hard. For me, they weren t. They were firm but yet have a little give to one s weight, which I think is just right for a good night sleep. In case anyone is wondering what type of power socket point the room has for charging of electronic equipments like cell phones,laptops,cameras etc....there is no need to bring adapters of all sizes and shapes like I did. Theirs are the 3-holes types on the wall, with multiple-shaped heads for each hole. So it should fit most power plugs be they round-headed, rectangular-headed or even strip-shaped (see photo inserted). Staff attitude and services are excellent. In all my 4-days stay there, I have never once came across a grouchy or sulky service personnel - from front desk reception,waiters/waitresses in the eating area,doormen to the security guards. Everyone seems more like wanting to fall over themselves to help you ,should you ask for any assistance. That makes one s holiday experiences in a foreign land that much more pleasanter. One advice for other travellers not to make the same mistake as what we did tho......upon checking into our room, we were delighted to see that the staff had arranged a wonderfully romantic heart-shape display made of fresh rose petals on our bed. After taking pics and videos of the beautiful presentation ,we just cudnt resist the temptation anymore and jumped onto the bed and rolled around in the flower petals. When we had enough of that we got off the bed and......horror horror !!!....the colour from the rose petals had rubbed off onto the nice WHITE clean sheets with all that rolling and the whole bedsheet was badly stained with red

No problem at all with booking thru sawadee. No fuss , no hiccups and responses to quiries were prompt. They have proven their reliability. Will def use them again the next time.

Very affordable hotel with perfect location near the river, close to the Sky train and river boats. It s quick to get to and from the airport. Fresh newly renovated rooms. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and of good quality. Will definitely stay here again at the next visit to Bangkok

The Studio we stayed in was large, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us as we wanted close proximity to a Sky Train station as well as the Chao Phraya Express. However, it may seem a bit far from the action for those who want to be near shopping complexes, restaurants and entertainment. Breakfast was good.

This is my second stay in Centre Point network (the last time it was CP Petchaburi) and actually the hotels are pretty much the same. The rooms are quite spacious, the bath appliances are new (and they have both the tube and the shower!), the furniture is in good condition. There is a refrigerator, a microwave, and the inroom safe is so large that you can even put a 17 laptop inside. That was not mentioned at Sawadee booking page, but they also have free wifi. The breakfast is probably better than average however I wasn t fully satisfied. They have lots of types of meat but no good rice or noodle or any other garnish. The American Breakfast is fine though. Overall I liked my stay and I don t have any complaints which would prevent me from staying there again.

On top of it all you can very easily travel throughout the city by Skytrain (BTS) which station of Saphan-Taksin is a few minutes away from the property.
